Been on a Les Miserables kick lately. If you don't know, I'm a fan of the novel (and the musical ...as well as other adaptations, but I digress ) Anyway, most adaptations of the novel (and most abridgments too) cut out the whole first book of Les Miserables which centers on the Bishop of Digne, Monsiegneur Bienvenu, AKA the guy who gives Jean Valjean the life changing silver candlesticks. In most adaptations, he doesn't even get a name, but it turns out he lead a really interesting life before even meeting Jean Valjean; He was the son of a noble who sat on the Parliament of Aix. His father intended for him to take his place in parliament so he married early (even though he still attracted attention, the scoundrel) With the overturning of parliament, he fled to Italy, where he lost his wife from tuberculosis. When he returned to France he was a priest.

He gained the See of Digne through a chance encounter with Napoleon who recommended him after some clever repartee. And the rest they say is history. (actually there's more, but you'll have to read the book for that O_O)

Anyway what i'm trying to get at is I think he needs more pictures drawn of him.... yes... <_<;
